Homemade Strawberry Syrup

A healthy, strawberry syrup recipe perfect for topping pancakes, waffles, or crepes.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups fresh strawberries (or frozen)
  • 3-4 tbsp sugar, honey, or date syrup to taste
  • 1 orange juiced and zested

Method
 

  1. Add all ingredients to a small saucepan.
  2. Simmer on low heat until fruit breaks down.
  3. Remove from heat and strain through a fine mesh sieve.
  4. Return liquid to saucepan and discard the solids. Taste and add more sugar, honey, or date syrup if needed.
  5. Reduce liquid until desired syrup consistency obtained.
